Supporting Student Ambition

From hobby to professional performance, we are eager to support all ambitions for all ages and all levels of experience from beginner to advanced to resuming. Our instructors have experience in exam, audition, and competition preparation to help students reach their goals.

Recitals

PM Music School hold recitals bi-annually in spring and fall for our students to show off their hard work to family and friends. Recitals also serve as a trial-run for our students preparing for exams and auditions. We strongly believe in the educational value (and fun!) of live performance, whether at our school or elsewhere. Previously, we have held recitals at Bristol Chapel and Robert L. Annis Playhouse in Westminster Choir College, Princeton. Currently, we hold recitals in our brand-new in-school performance room.

ABRSM Exams

Each spring and fall, we are happy to help countless students challenge themselves on ABRSM exams. In spring of 2022, all of our exam-taking students passed with merit or higher on levels ranging from beginner to advanced diploma. We are also proud to say that in over 20 years of instruction, we have never had a failing student! 

Competitions

We have helped students prepare for international music competitions such as the International Music and Arts Society Talented Young Musician Olympia (IMAS) competition and Golden Key Music Festival for which winners can perform in prominent halls such as Merkin Hall and Carnegie hall in NYC. This January and February of 2023, over ten of our students won Gold or Grand Prize in the IMAS competition and performed live in NYC. 

Ensembles

Every year, the Central Jersey Music Educators Association (CJMEA) and New Jersey Music Educators Association (NJMEA) hold auditions for Regional and All-State Band or Orchestra. PM Music School students have had the opportunity to play in these selective and respectable ensembles. This spring of 2023, three of our clarinet students and one saxophone student were accepted into these ensembles and will perform.

At PM Music School, we help our students pursue musical achievement, whether for school ensembles, regionals, exams, auditions, or more.
